Formulas Used for Exercise

d = t_{n + 1} - t_n

t_n = a + (n - 1)d

S_n = \({n} \over {2}\) (a + t_n)

S_n = \({n} \over {2}\) [2a + (n - 1)d]

r = \({t\_{n+1}} \over {t_n}\)

t_n = a r^{n - 1}

S_n = \({a(r^n - 1)} \over {r - 1}\)
